- Dave Roberts
Over the last few weeks a number of documents have crossed my inbox. I get copied on lots of good things. I have caught glimpses of equipment lists, tech rehearsals, schedules, service orders, video elements and planning agendas. All of them offer a little glimpse of what's coming on September 30th. The commitment, vision and just plain hard work that is going on behind the scenes for the kickoff of "myFive," our combined service next weekend at Crescenta Valley High School, is an awesome thing to see...a little glimpse of the future. In a very real sense, that is exactly what September 30th offers to each of us: a chance to glimpse the future. It is a chance to:
- pray as one congregation
- worship with all of our strength as one voice
- experiment with technology to help us share God's Word
- see the amazing miracle God is doing in our community
- dream about the mission He has in mind for the future
But more than all of that it is a chance to be - a chance to be the community God has called us to be, with the attitudes of warmth and family that His Word teaches will mark His church.
I'm excited to be part of a church that practices an "anti-bubble" ethos...a church that lives out the, "mercy rule." (If you don't know what that is, come and hear it this weekend!) I look forward to seeing you.
God Bless,
Dave
