"He will restore you and make you strong"

We continue today to be graciously overwhelmed by the amazing turn of events over the last 24 hours. The neurologist came in today at 2:00 P.M. He did an exam and is pleased with Byron's progress. Byron will continue physical therapy in the hospital until he is able to move around with stability and confidence. Not only is the physical therapy helping in the recovery, but there is continuing improvement as the blood is reabsorbed from the hemorrhage and the pressure is relieved.

The doctor expects Byron to be able to return home sometime this weekend. Once home he will still need a couple of weeks before trying to jump back into work. There are some theories forming as to what caused this incident, but further testing will be needed for a diagnosis. Those tests will be done after Byron's recovery is complete.

It is my profound belief that we have shared in a miracle worthy of the book of Acts. It may not be as vivid as Moses parting the Red Sea, but for each of us who know and love the Burns, this rescue is just as dramatic. A few hours ago we could feel the enemy bearing down on our hearts and minds and now we walk in sweet reality of deliverance. So pray for Byron's continued and complete healing and celebrate with honor and praise to God!

1 Peter 5:6-10 "Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast."

If those aren't two of the most beautiful, beaming smiles I've ever seen, then shut my mouth (did I hear some hearty "Amens!"- to the shut my mouth part?).
You two just radiate the joy of the Lord! I can't wait to see all the amazing things God will do as this filters down the line. Lives touched, faith restored, despair and defeat lifted, salvation received. Wow- What a wonderful God we serve!! I'm just so darned excited, I might just do the happy dance. No, no one has to see it.

Love you guys!!!!! Whoa!- Love you, Jesus!!!!

Hi, Byron,

You don't know me, but we met briefly at Lakewood some time ago. I am one of Darrin's sisters (his favorite), and I was so blessed to hear of God's amazing miracle in your life. There must be a song in there somewhere. Instead of "I once was blind, but now I see" it could be "I once had a mass, but now the CAT scan's clean." Not as poetic, but certainly worth singing.

I have many songs that I could sing of God's miracles in my life, but two of my favorites are "I once had stage-4 Lymphoma, but now I'm 11 years cancer free!" and "They once said 'no more children,' but now I have Hannah Jeanne!"

Praise God that He is still the God of amazing miracles today! May you never stop singing the song of God's miraculous intervention in your life! I pray that God will give you astounding peace and joy as you face other healing that may require patience, perseverance, and continued faith.
God bless you and your family.

P. S. Byron, I'm glad I'm not playing "behind" you in that outfit! :-)

Brenda, I recognize that smile from the little five year old girl I first knew when your parents were my Youth Directors, like, forever ago...its the same smile that always lit up wherever you were...my precious friend who has been like a littie sister to me in a lot of ways. Keep smilin' girl, our Heavenly Father gave you back your "heart song" and we have truly been the privileged ones to be participants in that wondrous miracle. Too awesome for words to describe, your and Byron's smiles join with all of ours to say it all: "Hallelujah! Our God is an awesome God!" :)

May the Joy of the Lord be your family's strength during this time of recovery.
I love you,
Kathy
