"Mysteries" and "Miracles"

Thank you to all who have been praying for Byron. After two very intense days, there is news. I will just relate how things have unfolded this morning and you can draw your own conclusions.

There was an additional vascular test yesterday afternoon as noted in yesterday’s update.  Those results were read this morning, Byron was given an additional exam and a consultation took place around 10:00 a.m.  The doctors found that Byron’s symptoms are abating and that his motor skills are returning to normal. Further, the latest scan shows no mass on or in the brain and the bleeding has stopped.  As a result, Byron was discharged from CCU around noon and is resting in a private room at Huntington Memorial.

The doctors have scheduled no further procedures and have mentioned Friday as a possible day for Byron to return home.  They do not know what happened to the mass and in their words, “It is a mystery.”  You say “mystery” we say “miracle”!  Please continue to pray.  Byron will begin physical therapy today to help him regain his balance and get him on his feet again.  The doctors still want to know what caused this event so in the next few weeks Byron will continue to undergo testing.

I encourage you to think about two things:

Give Praise – God has gently and powerfully led these last few hours and we want to give Him honor. Obviously there is much we do not understand, but in the last few hours we have gone from anticipating a serious brain surgery with profound implications to a miracle that defies human explanation.  So give God praise!

Pray – My heart and mind goes out to every person whose battles have not taken such a dramatic turn.  Some of you are fighting battles with fear and disease and you are still waiting for that miracle. My prayer is that these events will spark your faith and hope. My challenge is that every prayer warrior who has gone intensely to prayer for Byron and his family will begin to include the names of other families and friends who continue to fight the battle.

In the chaos of the last 48 hours God has clearly spoken concerning this weekend’s services. He is taking us in a new direction and I invite you to be a part of His leading. In light of all that has happened, I sense God is asking us to re- think a phrase we used over and over in last weekend’s services, “I don’t care what they say, I won’t live in a world without faith.”

God bless you!

Pastor Dave

Along with the prophet Micah, we say, "Who is a God like You?"; and along with the Psalmist we worship - "Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us. But to your name give glory, because of your mercy, Because of your truth...But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases..The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless us...He will bless those who fear the Lord...We will bless the Lord from this time forth and forevermore. Praise the Lord!" Amen and Amen. We will continue to pray!

Miracles defy logic. They are often said by zealous persons hungry for some thing to happen too casually. Now, I for one know about serious miracles. I am dismayed at persons who forget the body is capable of healing itself and that would not always mean MIRACLE. Walking on water could of course be done on frozen water. Then it would not be a miracle. When you talk about miracles people, please, don't use the term so loosely. Haleigh Poutre was an abused girl in Westfield,Ma who was finally put in intensive and critical care. When prayed for, she started to "come around" again but who is to say it was a miracle after such a long period of time? However;they were about to donate her organs. Now she is some where around Boston area and walking and talking.
What gets me is that you don't know me that well but I prayed for the Drew St. miracle in Clearwater, Florida. Yes, I even predicted it at four years old. Just be careful how you speak on the subject so you don't look like a fool.
