After a week of planning and praying for 2008 I am back in the office and preparing for the weekend ahead. God is challenging me personally as we explore our “Fives”. Do I invest in connecting in a way that is honoring to God? Do I put others at the top of my priority list? Am I committed to grow? Am I allowing God to shape me? Am I humble enough to hear the criticism of those around me? Am I allowing God to really search and challenge my life?

This weekend I'll be talking about what it means to be a servant. Nothing is more counter-cultural than this, “whoever would be greatest among you must be the servant of all.” Talk about a non-intuitive truth. That goes against every instinct that I have and yet God tells me that meaningful life is directly connected to loving others as self. I think I better start praying now that I can hear what God has to say to me this weekend. I hope you are preparing as well.
