"They like Jesus...but not the church"

Our church staff recently had the opportunity to hear Dan Kimball speak. Dan has written a book called, "They like Jesus, but not the Church." It is a convicting thought. Some of Dan’s challenges inspired the “Out of the Bubble” series. For the next three weeks we will address the dangers that come when the church pulls away from our culture and creates a separate subculture. It seems that Christians in the world (that means you and me!) have become bubble people. We try to stay safe from the world and the people in it, yet those very people are the ones Christ called us to love and engage.

The more we as Christians live in our own bubble, the less relevant the church becomes to our world. As we begin this series, I sense that God is going to work in a very personal way...with me...with you. As we respond to him, He is able help us as a church to refine our vision to become a safe place in a restless world. In preparation for these next 3 weeks, I ask you to be in prayer with me for this series and hope to see you this weekend.

Follow the blog posts this weekend, as we're preparing a place for you to share your insights and stories on the journey out of the bubble. I'll look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you Pastor Dave for a GREAT message Sunday.

It's always wonderful to visit churches while on vacation. I like to see how God is working.

I also like to take back things that challenge me and challenge the children in our church. Loved the title and the bubbles (smile). My God continue to bless your church. Barbie
