What are you praying for?

Of all the impressions I have as we enter September - the one that stands out the most is the need to pray. There are so many amazing, joyous, miraculous things that God is doing in our community. We should be praying prayers of thanksgiving for His grace and blessing, but there is so much more just ahead.

In the next few weeks God is going to challenge us with mission, outreach and ministry. Those are not just cliché words to rush past. I think God is going to challenge us with a powerful vision for our mission as a congregation, and as individuals. On September 30 we get a chance to reach out to the Montrose Church family. We get to celebrate and worship together as one family, in one room, all at the same time! Can you imagine all four congregations celebrating praise and worship with one voice? (I can’t wait!) But the 30th is about way more than just reaching out to each other, it is about reaching out to people who do not have a church family to call their own. It is our chance to love them, honor them and offer them a safe place where God speaks! And then there is ministry. We are all called to serve and to be salt and light. When I think of the fall and all that will unfold in the next few months, I invite you to make the fall a season of prayer. Pray about all of the events and ministries and opportunities God has planned. Pray for His will to be done her as it is in heaven. Pray for strength to keep up.... Pray for that fifth service that begins in October... Pray for God to stretch our facility or just give us a new one... Pray for lives to be changed... Oh well, you get the idea... make fall a season of prayer!
